The hand rubbing technique for surgical hand preparation must be preformed on clean, dry hands. After the operation when removing gloves, hands must be rubbed with an alcohol-based formulation or washed with soap and water if any residual talc or biological fluids are present.
Chlorhexidine 4% is chemically composed of emollients and free of anionic surfactants, allowing the product to hydrate and take care of the skin. In addition, the product's greater adhesion enhances the sustained effect of chlorhexidine, acting as an antibacterial barrier and reducing bacteria on the skin for hours.
